Great post Paul!

I remember Murray here in DC when I was a kid - I even met him a few times, and I remember him always taking time to talk to the kids and even get some photos. Great guy!

Caps fans wish him well!

Very nice tribute to Bryan (and Pat & Roger as well), Stewy. I very much enjoy the stories and experiences you share with us. Thanks for everything you bring to "The Buzz"!

I couldn't agree more with this Stewy. I have known Bryan well since he got his first pro coaching job with the AHL Hershey Bears in 1980 and have been proud to call him a good friend ever since. (The same goes for his brother, Terry, whom I have known since he first played in the Flyers organization with the AHL Richmond Robins in 1975.) Whenever the Sens visited the Flyers in recent years I always made it a point to sit with Bryan in the pressroom before the game and talk about both hockey and other subjects of common interest to both of us. His year with the Bears always came up as Hershey and the hockey people there are special to both of us as well.

Bryan is a strong person and I know he will beat this as you did Stewy. My thoughts are certainly with him, his terrific wife Geri, there two daughters, his brother Terry, and the rest of his large family (Bryan and Terry had eight brothers and sisters).

Just listen to and read the comments being made about Bryan Murray and you'll know what type of person he is. It seems everyone in hockey respects him and have only good things to say.

Great blog Paul. Bryan is a tough guy like you are and I have no doubt he will fight through this the same way you did.

Having went through chemo at the age of 26 I know how tough it is. Bryan is a warrier as you are Paul. All the best to him! He will certainly make his way through.
